Feria de Nerja: A Festival for Adults and Children

Feria de Nerja is the town's annual folk festival in October. The town's patron saints, Virgen de las Angustias and San Miguel Arcángel, are celebrated with music, traditions, and activities for all ages. Exact dates and program vary from year to year. Year-specific information can be found at the top of this guide.

Where is Feria de Nerja held?

The celebrations are spread across Nerja's town center. Concerts and performances are usually held at Plaza de España, while Balcón de Europa is a meeting point for music and dance during the day.

The feria grounds, Recinto Ferial, are located at the large parking lot at Los Huertos de Carabeo. There you will usually find the fairground rides, food stalls, and party tents, known as casetas.

What can you experience during the feria?

Music, Dance, and Traditions

The feria blends Andalusian culture with modern entertainment. Concerts, flamenco, parades, and religious celebrations are often part of the program. Which artists perform and when processions are held may change from year to year, so check the current program before your visit.

Fairground and Activities for Children

Carousels, games, and treats make the fairground a popular spot for families with children. Some years, a special children's day is organized with discounted rides. Dates and prices are only valid when confirmed in the current year's program.

Tips for Your Visit to Feria de Nerja

  • Arrive early for popular concerts at Plaza de España.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, as you will often move between several locations in the center.

  • Book accommodation in advance if you are traveling to Nerja for the feria.
  • Check times, any entrance fees, and changes in the town council's current program.
